I was photographing an abandoned market and these two young men crossed a busy street to talk to me. “It’s alright, lady,” one of them said. “It’s alright.” He strode quickly toward me. “Will you take my picture,” he asked. It happens all the time. Men coming up to me and wanting to be photographed. It’s like a good dream in a sad time, and a gift that I appreciate more than ever right now.
