My wonderful friend, Lena Frumin, is celebrating the end of her very successful show at Soapstone Market. I love how she shows mothers are mothers no matter what their culture, skin tone, clothes. She will have more protest paintings, so stop by the market at 4465 Connecticut Avenue on March 31st from 5-8 pm.

My friend Lena Frumin has the most egalitarian eye on the planet. Her art focuses on the moment. Her colors, her energy, her insight are optimistic, realistic, concerned about the guy who doesn’t quite fit in, yet hopeful that coming together and sharing ideas and talents will overcome challenging times. Here is a beautiful new painting she is showing at our wonderful neighborhood market and bar, Soapstone, on upper Connecticut Avenue near UDC. Thanks to Tracy Stannard and John Fielding for recognizing Lena’s talent and for enthusiastically showing her art. Lena’s work is on display — perfect venue, yummy home made food, craft beers, wines, pastries — so check it out. I will be posting more paintings and we are planning a get together later in the month. Stay posted.
