I don’t know why this photograph makes me smile — maybe it is about the environmental fantasy that we live in a world where art is suspended in the sky purifying the air. I found an abandoned medicine cabinet in my alley the other day and I have been photographing jewelry on the mirrored glass . Every shot is different, the sun moving through trees and clouds, shifting angles to balance highlights bouncing off the copper and stone. My little friend came into my studio like other cautious clients, revealing himself with his back to me. By the end of the session, he shined as himself, and we both had a ball.

My wonderful friend, Lena Frumin, is celebrating the end of her very successful show at Soapstone Market. I love how she shows mothers are mothers no matter what their culture, skin tone, clothes. She will have more protest paintings, so stop by the market at 4465 Connecticut Avenue on March 31st from 5-8 pm.
Dance, Dance, Dance

Wonderful benefit for the Maryland Youth Ballet. Fun night, dancers modeled their hand made tutus on the runway, and guests enjoyed themselves eating, drinking, and posing for pictures at a photo booth. The dancers were all elegant and fun to photograph.
